Steve A. Wood, President, CEO, CFO

Steve joined the company as Vice President of Planning and Chief Financial Officer in 1996, and was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer in 2000. Steve also serves as the Company’s Chief Financial Officer. He also provides strategic planning and organizational development consulting to clients of Spectrum Consulting.

Prior to joining the company, Steve spent seventeen years in the banking industry where he rose to Senior Vice President and Senior Commercial Loan Officer. He spent five years consulting in the area of strategic planning and organizational development to a range of businesses in New England.

Steve was an adjunct faculty member at Southern New Hampshire University from 1994 to 2013. He taught Leadership and Managing Organizational Change regularly at both the graduate and undergraduate level and periodically taught Strategic Management, Finance, Entrepreneurship, and other management courses. He also served on the University’s Strategic Planning Steering Committee.

Steve received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maine in 1975 where he was a member of the Senior Skull Society, and his Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University in 1987 where he was selected for both the Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Societies. He also graduated from the Williams School of Banking.

Steve is active in a number of regional charitable organizations and currently is Treasurer of the Portsmouth NH Rotary Club and serves on the Board of the Business and Industry Association of NH.

Susannah Chance, Vice President of Human Resources

Susannah Chance is Vice President of Human Resources for Work Opportunities Unlimited, Inc. She joined the company as a Resource Specialist in the Laconia office and was promoted to Regional Vice President of the Dover, NH market, before being promoted to her current position. As Vice President of Human Resources, Susannah is responsible for overseeing the human resource function for Work Opportunities Unlimited, including legal compliance for the company’s operations in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maryland and Florida. She also leads and delivers the Company’s management and supervisory training programs.

In addition to her responsibilities to the company, Susannah also provides consulting and training services for Spectrum Consulting. While serving a wide variety of industries, ranging from banks to sales organizations to motorcycle dealerships to heavy industry, she also has served towns and municipalities and non-profits.

Expertise: Supervisory training, harassment training and investigations; compliance reviews; employee handbook preparation and updates; climate surveys; salary surveys; and assistance with the management of workers’ compensation claims.

Past Experience: Susannah began her career during graduate school as the Program Coordinator of a small biotechnology firm that provided scientific training at locations throughout the United States and Europe.

Education: Susannah earned BBA and MBA degrees from Iowa State University. Susannah has also earned Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute and Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from the Society for Human Resource Management.

Professional Organization/Community Involvement: Susannah is currently the Chair of the New Hampshire Business & Industry Association’s Human Resources Committee, the Chair of the NH Workers’ Compensation Classification and Rating Appeals Board, and President of the Gilmanton Iron Works Library Association.

Personal Experience: Susannah is passionate about animal rescue. She and a friend work with NASCAR teams to bring dogs to NH, and occasionally convinces her husband to fly their small plane to rescue more dogs from shelters. If you talk with her when she’s working from her home office, it’s highly likely that a number of her furry friends will be working with her.

Fran Lefavour, Human Resources Expert

Fran Lefavour has been in the Human Resources field for over 40 years, 27 of those years as a consultant to small businesses in New England. She is viewed as an expert in the area of workers’ compensation case management and frequently speaks to groups regarding claims management, reducing workers’ compensation costs and other Human Resource topics.

Expertise: Human Resources, employee relations and workers’ compensation case management

Past Experience: Fran has been involved with a number of state and regional organizations including the NH Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, NH Wage & Hour Penalty Appeals Board and NH Public Employee Relations Board. Fran also served as a member of the adjunct faculty of the UNH Division of Continuing Education, Vice Chair of the Business & Industry Association Human Resources Committee and Chair of the BIA Worker’s Compensation Subcommittee.

Professional Organization/Community Involvement: Fran is a member of the NH HR State Council board, the NH State Council Conference Chair, and a founding member of the Run for the Fallen New Hampshire. She was the recipient of the 2015 NH State Council Volunteer of the Year award.

Jessica LaPaglia, Regional Vice President

Jessica joined Work Opportunities Unlimited in 2005 and has held a variety of roles on the career services and staffing teams. In her current role at Spectrum Consulting’s HR staffing team, she focuses on HR search, HR interim staffing and HR consulting services. Jessica’s experience as an HR professional helps her understand what Spectrum’s clients need.

Prior to working on the Spectrum Consulting team, Jessica worked with the Career Connections staffing team to provide administrative staffing solutions to their clients. She was the Recruiting Manager for the career services teams of Work Opportunities Unlimited for 11 years, helping recruit and hire individuals throughout New England, Maryland, and Florida.

Jessica received the Vision 2015 Award, which recognized her contribution in helping the company achieve its goals.She participated in the Work Opportunities Unlimited Leadership Council in 2012.

After graduating from Notre Dame College with a BA degree in Elementary and Special Education, Jessica began working in human resources and was promoted several times. As an Area Human Resources Manager, she was responsible for 800+ employees and multiple store locations.

Jessica volunteers at the Palace Theatre’s youth program, as well as with the Manchester Police Athletic Association, where she works with at-risk youth. She is also the Programs Chairperson Board Member for the Greater Nashua HR Association and a member of the Manchester Area HR Association. Outside of work and volunteer activities, Jessica enjoys running, racing, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Paul Wilson, Human Resources Expert

Paul joined the Spectrum Consulting team after retiring from Wilson Employment Networks, the staffing company he founded in 2000. Paul has over 20 years of experience in team development and business management.

He is a proud supporter of the human resources profession and actively volunteers to forward the human resources profession in the community. Paul has served as President of the Human Resources Association of Greater Concord, the Granite State Human Resources Conference, and the New Hampshire Staffing Association.

He is the 2013 recipient the Granite State HR Hero Award and is an active officer and Board of Director of A.C.C.E.S.S., a non-profit organization serving individuals with disabilities in Keene NH. He also co-chairs Concord Hospital’s Business Partners in Health committee.

Stacey Plamondon, Consultant

Stacey Plamondon was promoted to Recruiting Manager with Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) in December 2015. As Recruiting Manager, Stacey leads, trains, and mentors WOU’s team of six recruiters, and communicates closely with the organization’s senior management team. In addition, she conducts the core hiring for all staffing divisions.

Stacey earned an MS in Organizational Leadership/Human Resource Management at Southern New Hampshire University and a BA in Psychology from University of Massachusetts Lowell.
